Leather on Canvas Modern Folk Art Tree
I began to notice details of the bark on the old trees in our woods. It fascinated me with it’s color and texture variations. When I saw this embossed leather, it made me think of the bark on one of my favorite old trees. This piece is the result. Over 50 segments of hand cut embossed leather were sculpted together and reinforced to form this magnificent old tree. The mountain ranges are hand cut leather of different textures, colors and weights. They become more dimensional as they get closer. The muted colors of the piece lend it to a variety of settings; yet, no matter the setting it will enhance your distinctive space.
